OKScript Status Report #24 October 27, 2003 Dear OKScript User, The OKScript Status Report is sent to OKScript licensees, developers and friends when significant updates have been made to the program. Interesting techniques and applications for the program will also be distributed in the report periodically. To update or be removed from this distribution list please see the links at the bottom of this message or write me at yweare@gte.net. This issue announces a major update to the script editor and the discontinuance of the 16-bit version of the program. The October 23, 2003 OKScript (and Ophidio) release incorporates a more capable script editing component. The user benefits of this update include: - Multi-level "undo" and "redo" replaces the single level undo-only feature in past versions. - More search options. - Capability to send a script file or a selected section of a script to a printer. - Column and line selection mode, in addition to the normal text selection mode. - Ability to "reverse the case" of a selected piece of text. - Block indent and un-indent. - Drag and drop editing. - The editor options dialog now includes buttons to quickly setup a light or dark background syntax coloring scheme. The new features can be found under the Edit menu except for Print which is in the File menu. No changes were made to the OKScript commands - existing scripts will work as before. The 16 bit version of OKScript is obsolete and has been removed from the website. For users interested in Linux, I briefly explored running OKScript on a Linux platform under WINE. It ran ok and created a button panel, but didn't properly send keystrokes to other Windows applications (e.g. Notepad) that were also running under WINE. I'd appreciate hearing from users who have successfully used OKScript under Linux.
