Notrump Auctions

Our structure following the 1NT opening and 1C-1D,1NT sequence (the "1NT auctions") are identical, as are those that follow the 2NT opening and the sequences 1C-1D,2NT and 1C-1D, 2D-2S, 2NT (the "2NT auctions.") The main difference between the 1NT and 2NT cases involve the 2 (or 3) spade response. Here is the basic structure:

1NT-2C and 2NT-3C

 Standard Stayman inquery. Could also hold 54xx or 45xx, or long minor
with slam interest. After 1NT-2C, 2any-3m opener rebids 3NT with only
two card support for the minor, otherwise cuebids or raises on junk;
Responder's rebid in four of his minor is minorwood.

1NT-2D and 2NT-3D

 Transfer to hearts. If responder next rebids game it is a mild slam try.
If responder next bids 2S it is an invitational strength 55xx.

1NT-2H and 2NT-3H

 Transfer to spades. Could be game strength 55xx (rebids 4H) or slammy
55xx (rebids 3H).  If responder next rebids game it is a mild slam try.

1NT-2S

 Club or diamond bust, slammy minor two suiter.
Opener rebids 2NT and responder rebids 3C or 3D with the bust,
3H with xx54 or xx45 (afterwhich 3S asks) and 3S with xx55 or better.
Once a player selects a minor (on the two-suiters) his partner shows
keycards in the minorwood (0314) fashion.
                      2NT-3SMinor suit Stayman with slam interest.
1NT-2NT Invitational
1NT-3C
1NT-3D		 Long suit, invitational to 3NT.
1NT-3H
1NT-3S		 At least a five card suit and serious slam interest. Opener rebids 3NT with 
only 2 card support, otherwise cuebids or raises to game on junk.

1NT or 2NT - 3NT

To play.

1NT-4C 2NT-5C

 Gerber
1NT-4D or 4H
2NT-4D or 4H		Texas transfer. If responder continues he has serious slam interest.

Competitive 1NT Auctions

When our 1NT is doubled the above system is on. With values but no obvious bid we redouble.

When our 1NT is overcalled with 2C our system is on and double is Stayman.

When our 1NT is overcalled with 2D, 2H or 2S we use lebensohl.

We use the same system when we overcall 1NT (or 2NT over a weak 2) in direct seat.

When we balance with 1NT all responses are natural except a cuebid is Stayman.
